Behaivior Inc. (“Behaivior,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the www.behaivior.com website and the Behaivior Recovery mobile application, collectively referred to in this Privacy Policy as the “Service.”

 

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain, disclose, and protect information when you use our Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

 

The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, available at www.behaivior.com, unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

For a better experience while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, This may include, but is not limited to: name, email address, phone number, and postal address. The information that we collect will be used to contact or identify you.
 

Log Data

When you use or visit our Service, we may collect information that your browser, device, or application sends to us. This information is called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type or version, operating system, pages or screens of the Service visited, time and date of use, the time spent on pages, app performance information, diagnostic information, and other statistics or technical information.

We use Log Data to operate, secure, monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.


Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are files with small amounts of data that is commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These may be sent to your browser from the websites you visit and stored on your device.

Location Data 

Behaivior’s application Recovery may use location data for People in Recovery to better understand possible triggers of cravings or other recovery related patterns. To protect the anonymity and privacy of Recovery users, the data are converted to changes of motion on the HIPAA-compliant server, and unique locations are deleted from the server after no more than 5 weeks. Location data are not and will not be used for advertising.
 

Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:

  • To facilitate the Service

  • To provide the Service on our behalf;

  • To perform Service-related functions; or

  • To assist us in analyzing how the Service is used.

These third parties may have access to Personal Information only as needed to perform tasks on our behalf. They are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.

Data Retention

We retain Personal Information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service; comply with applicable legal, contractual, clinical, research, security, backup, compliance, and reporting obligations; resolve disputes; and enforce agreements.

 

In general, we retain account and profile information while a user’s account is active. Recovery-related, health-related, wearable, survey, usage, and support information may be retained for as long as needed to provide the Service and support applicable care, program, contractual, legal, clinical, research, or compliance obligations. If collected, unique locations are deleted from the server after no more than 5 weeks, as described in the “Location Data” section.

 

If a user requests deletion of their account or Personal Information, we will delete or de-identify Personal Information from active systems within a reasonable period, generally within 30 days, unless we are required or permitted to retain certain information for legal, contractual, clinical, research, security, backup, compliance, dispute resolution, or fraud-prevention purposes. Information stored in backups may take longer to delete but will be deleted or overwritten according to our normal backup retention practices.

 

De-identified, anonymized, or aggregated information that no longer identifies a user may be retained for research, analytics, reporting, product improvement, safety, or other lawful purposes. 

Account Deletion

If the Service allows users to create an account, users may request deletion of their account and associated Personal Information by contacting us using the information in the “Contact Us” section or by using any account deletion process made available through the Service or on our website. Before processing a deletion request, we may need to verify the identity of the requester and confirm that the requester is authorized to delete the account or information. Deleting an account may limit or permanently remove access to the Service and related features. Some information may be retained as described in the "Data Retention" section.


Security

We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, and we strive to use commercially reasonable and appropriate safeguards to protect it. However, no method of transmission over the internet, mobile networks, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure or reliable. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

In certain circumstances, Behaivior may process information on behalf of healthcare providers, treatment organizations, research partners, or other organizations that are subject to health privacy laws. Where applicable, Behaivior uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect health-related information and comply with applicable contractual and legal obligations.

 

This Privacy Policy describes Behaivior’s general privacy practices. Additional privacy notices, consent forms, research authorizations, service agreements, business associate agreements, or participating organization policies may also apply depending on how a user accesses or receives the Service.

Children's Privacy

Our primary Service is not tailored for anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with Personal Information, we will delete that information from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.
